Sri Venkateswara University Library

Founded in 1955, the University Library began with a humble collection of 6,700 books sourced from Sri Venkateswara College in Tirupati under the management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

The library was officially opened on July 12, 1964, by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, who was the President of India at the time. He honored it with the title “Taj Mahal of the South” highlighting its growing academic and scientific importance.
